Teen Drawing Camp

Drawing Principles Basics, Doodling, Design, and Creation (12-18 yrs)

  • 30 US dollars
  • North Main Street

Service Description

Drawing is wonderful for relaxation as one enters into the meditative flow of imagination and creation. Drawing can be expressive of emotions from sadness and anger to happiness and humor; it act as a therapeutic release of stress and anxiety. Learning to draw what comes from the internal mind can bring about a sense of independence and self-confidence. In this camp we focus on the basic fundamentals of drawing from line to shape and shading, and then we move into creating basic forms with shapes, 3-D principles, and perspective. We will then explore several exercises to help the beginner to intermediate artist train the eye to see shapes, details, light, and shade, and by the end of camp, the beginner drawer will have basic fundamentals to take anywhere. This one-week camp is built so that any artist from beginner to intermediate will gain the skills to be able to express their internal ideas through basic drawing principles, and have lots of fun while doing so! Our Summer Camps are offered at a weekly rate for five days and include a morning session from 9 AM to 12 PM, lunch from 12 PM to 1 PM and an afternoon session from 1 PM to 3 PM on Monday-Friday. Lunches will not be provided. Children must bring a sack lunch, limited refrigeration so cooling packs are encouraged. Healing Hearts Haven will not reheat lunches. Morning and afternoon snacks are also encouraged.
