Art Camp focuses on positive painting and drawing exercises that facilitate the creative process and are linked to out-of-the box problem solving, individual identity and expression, sensory stimulation, and neural connections; building fine motor and writing skills, and an exploration of feelings in a safe, reflective way. Teens who create art are more resilient and have a larger toolbox to express themselves in their external environments. This two-week camp will introduce several different mediums of art such as watercolor, acrylic, clay sculpture, and paper crafts. We will collage, paint, mold, draw, color, and mix our way into intuitive and positive art projects that will aid in internal expression and help teens make sense of the world around them. This is a self-contained art camp where children will learn basic drawing, painting, and crafting skills while curating creative solutions to outside problems and cultivate positive mindsets. There is no skill needed as each class is aimed at beginner to intermediate level. We will explore color theory, mixing, basic shading, line drawing, composition, painting tutorials, and construct craft projects each day. Art camp is focused on mindfulness and positivity. Each project is aimed at intuition, reframing negative thought patterns, and engaging in mindfulness conversations about being present in our environment. We will share projects and develop social skills by explaining to the group why we chose certain elements, colors, and mediums to further develop insightfulness and internal struggles that are expressed through the art. As a group, we will suggest ways to cope. Art is your soul's way of speaking to you, in Art Camp, we teach children how to listen to that inner voice of individual expression and use it to their advantage in solving life's problems. Our Summer Camps are offered at a weekly rate for five days and include a morning session from 9 AM to 12 PM, lunch from 12 PM to 1 PM and an afternoon session from 1 PM to 3 PM on Monday-Friday. Lunches will not be provided. Children must bring a sack lunch, limited refrigeration so cooling packs are encouraged. Healing Hearts Haven will not reheat lunches. Morning and afternoon snacks are also encouraged.
