Children's Drawing & Painting Saturday Morning 9Am to 12 PM: This painting and drawing retreat focuses on positive painting and drawing exercises that facilitate the creative process and are linked to out-of-the box problem solving, individual identity and expression, sensory stimulation, and neural connections; building fine motor and writing skills, and an exploration of feelings in a safe, reflective way. Children who create art are more resilient and have a larger toolbox to express themselves in their external environments. Intuitive and positive painting, drawing, and crafting will have them squeezing, gripping, cutting, tearing, squishing, molding, and mixing their way to beautiful products they can see, touch, hear, taste, and smell to make sense of the world around them. We will explore color theory, mixing, basic shading, line drawing, composition, and construct craft projects during this retreat. We will also work in varying mediums such as watercolor, acrylic, clay, paper scraps, colored pencil, marker, and pencil, among others. Children's Sensory Play Retreat Saturday Afternoon 1 PM to 4 PM: Our Children's Sensory Camps are designed to allow youth ages two to five years old learn to engage with each other in a sensory awareness environment. Children will be allowed to participate in sensory bin experiences, sensory and science stations focusing on sight, sound, touch, and smell, scavenger hunts, puppet theater, musical and social activities, science stations, candle making and essential oils, play dough bins, slime, and jewelry making, group discussion, connectedness with others through team building exercises, board games, and interactive drawing games, and learn how to relate to their outside world in a mindful manner. Children's Sensory Snack Retreat Sunday Afternoon 1 PM to 4 PM: Our Sensory Camps are designed to allow youth learn to engage with each other in a sensory awareness environment and learn how to relate to their outside world in a mindful manner. This retreat focuses on the senses of sight, smell, touch, and taste. All the mini cooking activities will involve heat-free and utensil free snack-making projects, such as constructing a fruit pizza with pre-made cookie dough, cheesecake sauce, and pre-cut fruits. Children will use four of their senses participating in easy how-to cooking lessons to bring snack-making into the family home. Children are encouraged to taste new foods, but will not be required to partake.
